Gone are the ugly frames and surrounds. Bezels are shrinking and while manufacturers lay claim to the frameless, zero bezel and bezel-less displays, like smartphone manufacturers, it isn’t entirely possible. Better for your eyes: TUV Rhineland-certified flicker-free backlighting and blue light filter minimises eye fatigue. Surely, this can’t be bad. If your monitor supports this, it just means you can stay working on your monitor for longer without hurting your eyes.

Connectivity: DisplayPort and HDMI inputs are quite common these days. Some monitor even comes with Dual HDMI inputs, allowing for switching between two sources such as a streaming or game console and the computer. Some high definition displays offer USB Type-C port on top of HDMI and DP ports.

HDR Support: Dynamic Range colour and contrast technology for enjoying streaming and video content are also coming to the monitor. Although not quite as common, monitors are supporting HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG. These may not be necessary unless you are streaming from a device that supports such as standard.
